The Role:

The Multimedia Designer works with the Lead Designer and the team to build on their skills and abilities as a graphic designer by combining graphic design with animation to create videos and animated presentations.

The type of work includes designing multimedia-based layouts, graphics, animation, videography and video editing

We place a lot of emphasis on animation/video skills

The Tasks:

  • Create animations, videos and interactive presentations for use in digital marketing channels including video games, websites and mobile apps
  • Videography and video editing
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop creative concepts and direction for clients
  • Interpreting the client’s business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose
  • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
  • Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time
  • Presenting finalised ideas and concepts to clients or account managers
  • Working as part of a team of designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists

Entry Requirements:

  • Proficient in the use of Adobe’s Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects
  • Proficient in the use of video and audio editing software including Final Cut Studio, Premiere, GarageBand and/or Pro Tools
  • Streaming and animation techniques
  • At least three years’ experience working in a similar in-house role or agency
  • Possess a relevant degree and/or a strong design background with a portfolio of work that demonstrates a solid understanding for video and video animation with a great eye for design, innovation and creativity
  • Ability to take designs through the stages of concept, execution, and published format in a relatively short time frame
